Newark is trying to get residents interested in a career in the film and digital media industry.

It comes as Lionsgate Studios opens in the city next year.

The city started taking applications for the Newark Film Works program. It is a workforce development program designed to jumpstart a career in the industry.

All applicants must be 18 or older, residents of Newark, and have a strong interest in the field.
