One person was taken to the hospital after a fire tore through a building in Canarsie

According to the FDNY, the fire started on the fourth floor of the building on 937 E 56th St. Over 70 fire and EMS personnel responded.

EMS took one person to the hospital. Two other people’s injuries were evaluated on scene but were not hospitalized.
